The journal of Sophia Stiltner's brother, Frederick Charles Stiltner Jr.,states that the last that was heard from Nathan and Sophia LOWDER wasthat they were "on the banks of the Wabash." No date is given for thisjournal entry, but it does place Nathan and Sophia somewhere in Indiana(or perhaps Illinois).
Nathan LOWDER apparently died between 1840 (when he was listed in the1840 Census of Poinsett County, Arkansas) and 1850 (when no husband wasenumerated with Sophia in the 1850 St. Francis County, Arkansas, Census).

Vin e Fork of Poplar Creek on the dividing line between Bull Creek and
