I am looking for my grandmother, Margret Sexton born 1870/1871 Letcher co., VA; parents were William M Sexton and Lucinda Gibson. SHe married James F. Hogston; they divorced. Margaret lived in either Hurley VA or Council VA, Grundy, VA; she is on the 1910 va census; after that I think she re married to either a Cook or Coleman. I think she may have died prior to 1945; she was at one time a cook for the W M Ritter Loggging camps. Any help would be appreciated. She owned a farm in Hurley.

I'm trying to find more information on my mother's family tree for my children's school project. If you can find any information on Henry Deel and Ada Kanawa Cook Deel I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure where they lived, but they had around 8 to 12 kids that I can recall, including my grandmother, Universal "Eunice" Deel Fletcher, born 12/13/1915 or 1916. She married Roy Lincoulus Fletcher and they lived on Homecreek. I was told that Ada Kanawa (my great grandmother) was full-blooded Indian and that she died when my grandmother was between 8 and 12 years old. I hope this helps you find out more about her. In July of 1917, when William Harold Murdock (b. 23Jan1893) filed for his WWI draft card in Buchanan County, VA, he had a dependant wife and one child, for whom he was requesting to be excused from the draft. I believe that one child may have been Mabel G. Murdock, who later married David J. Hampton, had about 10 children (one (Wilma Louise Murdock Morrison) whom may have been pre-wedlock and whom proceeded Mabel in death), moved to Ohio, became an LPN, retired to Statesville, NC, died on July 13, 2003, and was burried in Mclaughlin Cemetery, Garden Creek, VA. I believe the wife at that to have been Louisa Alifaira (Rowe). I think he later married Stella Octavia (something, who later became VanDyke), who became Mabel's step-mother and also preceded Mabel in death, but I'm not sure where they married (or anything else about her). Mabel had at least 3 Sisters and one brother (William Harold Murdock of Ohio, Joyce (Otis) Street of Garden Creek, VA, Bonnie Byrd of Liberty, NC, all of who survived her, and Opal Murdock Vance Dohman, whom preceeded her in death. All this is true, that is, if this is the correct William Harold Murdock. Any enlightment would be much appreciated. Thank you.

RE: Isaac Greenberry Webb, Married to: Rosa Ella (Keen) Webb. Grandpa Isaac died before I was born, I did have a chance to get to know Grandma Rosa. She lived to be in her 80's and lived in Centerburg, Ohio when she died. I was in middle school, so I did get to know her fairly well. They had a lot of children. My great-grandfather, Henry Harvey GROSS married Lila (Polly) VANCE from Sullivan County, TN on 28 Aug 1866, married by Jno. A. Compton. I am trying to get a copy of the marriage certificate and any information re either of them. I don't know if they lived in the area or were just married there. Henry's parents were Alben GROSS and Elizabeth ?. Lila's parents were William J. VANCE and Margaret ?. Alben supposedly came over from Germany, but don't know when.
